Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Study Steward (the “Service”), operated by Christopher Mark Walker trading as AAAIBiz (ABN 56 747 625 708). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Description

Study Steward is an AI-powered research advisory platform that provides structured feedback from a simulated Advisory Board (Content Advisor, Methodology Advisor, Structure Advisor, Critical Friend, and Chairperson). The Service includes note management, voice transcription, credit-based billing, and support ticketing.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service. By registering, you represent that you are 18 years of age or older and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Account Registration & Security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
• You may not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws

4. Credits & Subscriptions

• Credit Costs: Organise notes (1 credit), voice recording & transcription (3 credits), Ask Advice and Debate (5 credits each), Full Advisory Board analysis (10 credits)
• Subscriptions: Monthly (200 credits for $30) and Annual (2,400 credits for $300) plans auto-renew until cancelled
• Top-ups: Extra credits can be purchased at 60 credits for $10
• No expiry: Purchased credits do not expire while your account remains active

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Important: The Advisory Board analyses, advice, and debate responses are generated by artificial intelligence (AI) through third-party LLM providers and are provided for informational and advisory purposes only. They do not constitute professional academic advice, supervision, or endorsement. You should:

• Critically evaluate all AI-generated content before incorporating it into your work
• Consult with your actual academic supervisor or advisor for formal guidance
• Not rely solely on AI-generated analysis for critical research decisions
• Verify any claims or citations against primary sources

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Submit illegal, harmful, or abusive content to the Service
• Attempt to circumvent credit billing or authentication systems
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools without authorisation
• Interfere with the Service's operation or security
• Share your account credentials with others

7. Intellectual Property

• Your Content: You retain all rights to your notes, research content, and analysis data. We claim no ownership over your intellectual property.
• Service IP: The Service, including its code, design, branding, and underlying technology, is owned by Christopher Mark Walker trading as AAAIBiz.
• AI Output: You are free to use AI-generated analyses from the Service for your research purposes.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian consumer law, the Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Christopher Mark Walker trading as AAAIBiz shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated content, loss of data, or service interruptions.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), including consumer guarantees under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in unlawful activity. You may terminate your account at any time via the Settings panel, which permanently deletes all associated data.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Victoria.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify registered users of material changes via email.
